Stephanie and Andrew first met while working together in 2016. Steph was a biologist who had just recently transferred to a new program where she met Andrew, an engineer enthusiastically wearing a Hawaiian shirt for a themed lunch.
We were friends and co-workers for years, collaborating to manage community development projects all over the coast of British Columbia.
One day, Andrew asked Stephanie out for coffee after work, and the rest was history!
In the following years, we moved in together in the Kitsilano neighbourhood of Vancouver. With a shared love of projects, we have tackled many home reno and yard improvements together, and have also had a lot of fun hosting our home on airbnb and meeting people from all over the world. We worked side by side through the pandemic with our loyal and hilarious dog Benji.
We also love to explore the world together whenever we get the chance, and have traveled to Greece, Italy, around the US, and Mexico. We love a good road trip – the furthest being a 3 week journey to the Yukon. We love vineyards and wine tasting, and are always exploring new cafes and beaches.
The PROPOSAL: Andrew popped the question in one of the most romantic places on earth – Tuscany! It was each of our first time in Europe, and after enjoying wine and cheese at the beautiful Castello Trebbio, we went for a walk on the castle grounds. As we sat on a rock overlooking the lake, we finished our bottle of wine and Andrew proposed! Steph had no idea it was coming and burst out crying… and said YES!
A little bit about Andrew: Andrew has a background in mechanical engineering, and worked for over 20 years as a project manager for construction of community marinas. He has one grown son named Caleb who lives in the nearby city of Burnaby. Andrew is never shy to undertake any project, from home renos, to finance and computer programming, and enjoys writing short stories for fun.
A little bit about Stephanie: Stephanie has a background in cell biology and physiology and has worked as a program manager serving communities all over BC, most recently as a negotiator for the Federal government. She is an avid soccer and baseball player, and enjoys yoga and reading about health and physiology.
We can’t wait to celebrate with you all at our wedding in July!
